Privacy
Your privacy, treated the way a health organization should.
This is a behavioral health site. We collect only what we need, we protect it, and we never sell it. Here's exactly how it works, in plain language.
A note on this template
This policy is provided for transparency. It is a template, not legal advice, and the organization's legal counsel should review and finalize it before launch.
What we collect
We only collect information you choose to give us. When you show your support, that's your name, email, ZIP code or city, the role you select, and — if you choose to write one — your organization and your story, along with the consent choices you make. When you contact us, that's your name, email, and message (and a phone number if you provide one). We do not collect health information, and please do not send us any.
How we use it
We use your information to confirm your support, to count and describe community demand (for example, "residents, healthcare professionals, and educators from across the county"), to reply to you, and — only if you gave permission — to contact you or display your name or story. That's it.
Your consent controls what's public
Your name is displayed publicly only if you checked the box allowing it — and every consent box is unchecked by default. Your story is shared only if you checked the box allowing it, and only after a person reviews it. You can withdraw either permission at any time by contacting us, and we'll take it down.
We never sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. We never display email addresses publicly. When we present community support to a funder or a public body, we present counts, roles, communities, and consented stories — never raw contact information.
No ad trackers
We do not use Meta pixels, Google ad trackers, or any third-party tracking that would leak the fact that you visited a behavioral health site. If we ever use analytics, it will be a privacy-respecting tool that doesn't identify you, and we'll say so right here.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here — for example, to maintain an honest, confirmed count of community support, to respond to you, and to keep a record of the consent you gave. When information is no longer needed, we delete it. You can ask us to remove your information sooner at any time (see "How to reach us" below).
How we protect it
The site is served over HTTPS. We limit who can access supporter information, and we hold it only as long as we need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we treat your data with the care a health organization owes you.
Email and your choices
We use double opt-in — you confirm by email before you're counted — so no one is added without asking. Any email we send includes a clear way to unsubscribe, and we honor it promptly. If you asked not to be contacted, we won't.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the organization grows and its practices are finalized by counsel. When we do, we'll revise the effective date above and post the new version here. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
How to reach us, and how to be removed
To ask a question, see what we hold about you, or ask us to remove your information, contact us any time. We're reachable through our founding partner, Beyond Borders MHC, at , or through our Contact page. Ask us to remove you and we will.
